By Duncan's mommy Don't waste your money...get the metal die-cast Mater instead. We bought this one because the "pull-back" action seemed like fun (presumably it would make Mater drive backwards). It worked ONE TIME and then broke. His hook broke off too because it is made of plastic. Buy the metal Mater and have lots more play-time with it. My son wanted to tow cars around with Mater's hook but since that broke off this Mater is destined for the garbage bin. Worthless.

By L. Jordan My son (5) received Mater & Lightning pull-backs as a gift. The rubber on Mater's tires slipped off after only a few days, and I had to pass it around the family to get it fixed. Even when not working properly, my son loved it. He, Mater, does drive backwards, but not straight backwards:) He also calls it his "pull-front Mater". I'm glad he has it, but I would have been disappointed if I had paid for it and it broke so easily.
