Great toy. A little noisy! Jul 17, 2007
By mocame I just got this for my son for his 5th birthday. He's been asking for it for months. It's hard to find in the stores but $30.00 is a lot for it. Shop around and you can find it a little cheaper.
My son LOVES his Lightning Storm Mcqueen. He got a lot of CARS stuff for his birthday and this, he says, is his very favorite.
When you press the button on the top or make him move, he makes sounds. It is really loud but I'm finding that is the case with more toys nowadays. No volume button but there is an off/on switch. My son mostly plays with the sound off.
He loves to pop the wings out and shoot the missiles and bombs. The missiles shoot out about 5 feet or so. It took us a little while to figure out how to get the wings out and for him to actually be able to do it. Once-in-a-while they stick and don't come completely out.
I recommend this toy. I'm even getting one for my nephew. Even with a few minor issues, my son still loves this toy and has a lot of fun with it. Even my 7 yr. old daughter plays with it.

Cool toy - but wings are hard to release Jul 12, 2007
By lv_2_shop My son just loves this toy. The problem is that he would really like to go between the car and the plane easily. This toy, when you want to go from car to plane - the wings just don't release very easy - my son is unable to do it himself - and I need a tool to do it. Bad design - but great toy otherwise...

Great for a cars fan Apr 19, 2007
By K. Leal My 4 old son saw this toy in the store and would beg to go to the store to see "his blue lightning." We went ahead and bought it for him. It is nice that it is both a car and a flying toy. I would not recommend this for small children since the missiles come off. it also comes with an off switch!!

"Grumpy old Pommie b*stard"
....so goes a 3 yo who eventually wore us down enough to track this thing down (would love to know how he knew it existed but he won't share that secret)....
Pretty good - a tad noisy when you have a hangover though - but then 3 yo's and hangovers seldon mix do they?
If Pixar keep up the marketing they'll be 27 variants of Lighnting McQueen by Christmas!

FUN TOY -BEWARE, IT TAKES BUTTON CELL BATTERIES Jan 15, 2008
By B. Streit
"mom of 2 boys"
I purchased two of these, one each for my 6-year old and my 3-year old. They have lots of fun with this toy, but I wish I would have been paying more attention when I bought it, because the batteries are button cells, which can get very expensive to replace, so if that's a concern for you, beware. One other point of concern is that it isn't as durable as I would've hoped. My son accidentally dropped it on the CARPET, and the end of the wing broke off, and it's supposed to bend, so you can't just glue it back on. All in all, it is an entertaining toy. I'm just glad I only paid $8.99 for it.
